It all starts with a thorough and accurate exam! A review of the systematic approach to basic ocular diagnostics, the neuro-ophthalmic exam and the complete ophthalmic exam.

All the Colors of the Rainbow: Formulating Differential Diagnoses Based on Color

Using the idea that the ocular exam reflects live pathology of the eye, we will discuss how different colour changes and exam findings can help point you towards a diagnosis. In this lecture, we will discuss the “red eye” as well as the “blue,” “black” and “white” eye.

A review of ulcerative (superficial, complex and deep) and non-ulcerative (immune-mediated, degenerative, dystrophic) diseases of the canine eye.

Ocular 9-1-1: Houston We have an Ocular Emergency

A review of common ocular emergencies including eyelid lacerations, lens luxations, corneal foreign bodies, and glaucoma. While referral options will be presented, we will also discuss treatment strategies for when referral is not a possibility.

Putting Some Fun Back in Fundus: A Review of the Fundic Exam and of the Approach to Acute Blindness

A review of the fundic exam and of the major causes of acute blindness in dogs and cats
